This study opens up the scope of developing effective material specific antibacterial MgPs by doping Ag into them in a controlled fashion. Noteworthy as it is, microwave-irradiation proves to be an efficient and easy fabrication procedure to synthesize the antibacterial NB crystals. However, given the cytotoxic effects of Ag+ concentration, it comes with an important trade-off of attaining the best antibacterial effectiveness and cytocompatibility at the same time.
