Wind energy has a great application in Egypt. However, due to the nature of intermittent wind energy, power storage systems are used as basic systems that can be used to meet the challenges of power generation and load balancing. This paper aims to optimize and assess different wind generating modes for supplying a part of Egyptian electrical distribution network. The wind turbines are optimized according to their technical and economical points. Then, the output of the optimal wind turbine is determined. The load demand is determined and compared with the power output from the wind farm to find the surplus power generated which is used to generate an amount of hydrogen (H2) through water electrolysis operation. This hydrogen is used to generate electric energy from fuel cell plant. This energy will be used to supply the system in the deficit times. Also, the economical design of the fuel cell is computed in this paper. The proposed optimization design is applied to real network as a part of Egyptian network which the results show the efficiency and capability of the proposed optimization modes.
