Mesenchymal stem cell exosome coated scaffolds: An immune responsive transplant for tissue regeneration.

Here, we designed an immune responsive exosome-scaffold system that could generate a M2 biased immune response in local transplant site, as well as a Th2 immune response in remote lymphatic organs, which were reported to be favorable for tissue regeneration. The study elucidates the interaction between materials and immune system, bridges the local transplants and systemic immune response, that has important implications on designing immune responsive materials for future regenerative medicine.
