Development of a Sprayable Biopolymer Hydrogel for the Prevention of Postoperative Adhesions

Luna has demonstrated the efficacy for a sprayable hydrogel to prevent postoperative adhesions as a physical barrier between the injured surfaces. Efforts to validate these results in a rabbit model of the same design4 are ongoing with partners at DaVINCI Biomedical Research Labs, and favorable end-user feedback has been obtained from practicing general surgeons. Design controls are being implemented, and a transition effort is being developed to determine pathways to clinical application.
