We investigate automatic computer-based estimation of changes in left ventricular wall thickness in full short-axis MRI data. Changes in left ventricular wall thickness have been used for two patients to detect myocardium infarctions. At the first step the cardiac area is found in full short axis gadolinium enhanced cardiac MRI in diastolic and systolic states. After finding the left ventricular (LV) cavity we could estimate changes in LV wall thickness based on the changes in left ventricular areas in diastolic and systolic states. Myocardium infarctions are localized due to American Heart Association standard segmentations. Our method is completely automatic and there is no need for doing any steps manually.
