Typical solar power generation systems stop generating power when there is a blackout. Even solar power generation systems that generate power during a blackout do not produce enough stable power because the power production fluctuates due to the weather conditions. These systems are insufficient for use as emergency power supplies during a natural disaster. Therefore, a solar power generation system equipped with lithium-ion batteries (Li-BATT) (the System) for use during a blackout was developed to resolve these issues. This system, constantly utilizing Li-BATT, can reduce electricity rates (contracted power) by the peak-cut control under usual conditions. The simulation results for the electricity expense reduction effects by using linking testing and the use of the System are discussed in this paper.
