Mullite-Silica Rich Glass Composite and Application

摘要

Mullite-silica rich glass composite (MSRGC) is a material which is more efficient than chamotte for refractory utilization of clay.In the present work,the relation between the phase compositions and the chemical compositions of MSRGC,the effects of chemical compositions of glass phase on the viscosity and coefficient of thermal expansion of the glass phase have been discussed based on the analysis of 17 MSRGC produced from clay.An example of MSRGC application is given.Comparing the castable with a common lightweight chamotte aggregate,it was found that the castable with lightweight MSRGC aggregate has higher hot modulus of rupture,refractoriness under load and thermal shock resistance.
