SOLUTIONS TO DEVELOPMENT OF PAVEMENT CEMENT CONCRETE IN THE LOW-CARBON ECONOMY

With the background that the climate has become an important issue, low-carbon economic development has become a global consensus. China will be in a critical period of developing low-carbon economy in the coming 10 years. It is imperative for transportation to develop low-carbon economy as it has played an important role in national economic development. The cement concrete, as one of the essential materials for pavement, is facing the unprecedented opportunity and challenge. Under the new circumstance of low-carbon economy, it is necessary to update our mind and recognition, to strengthen the communication and cooperation between structure design, construction and material. The author mainly discusses the solutions and tactics of developing low carbon economy on cement concrete pavement in material, mix design, structural design and construction technology. This paper points out that the main solutions of energy saving and emission reduction of cement concrete pavement are improving the durability and lifespan of cement concrete, applying the industrial waste to reduce cement consumption, researching and developing green high performance concrete and low-carbon concrete, making full use of urban construction waste to make recycled aggregate concrete, and exploiting new construction technology constantly.
