@@ 1 Introduction Over the last two decades, harmful algal blooms (HABs) occurred more frequently in China, well in line with global trend (Pan et al. 2006). World-wide, strong relationships have been observed between increases in nutrient loading and proliferations of specific types of HABs (Glibert and Burkholder 2011), and phosphorus was proved to be the nutrient limiting factor in the freshwater lakes since some of the HABs can fix nitrogen by themselves (Schindler et al. 2008).
