This paper describes the implementation of an energy management program in a number of school districts in Kentucky. This paper will present data on three of these districts - the Scott County School District located in Georgetown, Kentucky, the Woodford County School District located in Versailles, Kentucky and the Bourbon County School District in Paris, Kentucky. The focus is on the unique ability that K-12 schools have with their student body that if you can get the students engaged in the program, you can achieve outstanding results. The process used and the results obtained in these school districts will be presented with a special focus on using Energy Star ratings to motivate students and staff to improve the Energy Management results at their school.
