Water hyacinth is an efficient decontamination plant used for purifying wastewater, and the efficiency differs in different water conditions. The study is undertaken toinvestigate how pH affects the nutrient absorption or cleansing rate in turtle pond wastewater (TPWW). The analytical elements include TP (total phosphorus), TN (totalnitrogen), COD (Chemical oxygen demand), water hyacinth biomass etc. Result showsthat the pH range of 7.5~6.5 see the most effective purifying result in comparison withpH range of 6.5~5.5, 8.5~7.5 and not-regulated ones, the reason is deduced due to theavailable state in mineral elements, which enhance the overall nutrient absorption incomparable balance supply condition. The study also discussed the potential usage ofwater hyacinth for cultivar pot materials.
