摘要

The combustion synthesis of the TiC under milling was carried out in a quartz reactor-vial expressly manufactured to follow the process with a high-speed video system coupled with infrared radiation thermometers. The reaction ignites spontaneously. In spite of the separated nature of the sample, the experimental combustion temperatures can approach the adiabatic temperatures of the process and the reaction proceeds in a molten phase at a temperature above the melting point of the low-melting component.
