A novel approach to robust restructurable or recon-figurable control synthesis is proposed by using the model-matching strategy. The design requires the trans fer function matrix of the reconfigured closed-loop system should match that of the nominal closed-loop system in the H_∞-norm sense. Besides regarding the control redesign as the reconfigurable control, the control mixer concept is used for the synthesis of the robust restructurable control. The current robust control techniques such as H_∞ control and μ-synthesis can be employed for the restructurable/reconfigurable control synthesis. Therefore, the reconfigured system performance, stability and robustness can be considered simultaneously. Furthermore, this approach can deal with parametric and additive faults as well as system uncertainties, which includes the possible variations about the FDI information.
