Multicriteria evaluation of transportation firms in greece

This paper presents an evaluation of the financial performance and viability of the transportation forms in greece. The evaluation is accomplished using a multicriteria methodology based on the application of the FINEVA (FINancial EVALuation) multicriteria knowledge-based decision support system. The FINEVA system provides estimations concerning the performance and the viability of firms, through the combination of an expert system, with the principal components analysis method, and the multicriterial method UTASTAR *UTilites Additives). The application is based on a sample of 29 Greek transportation firms, which are evaluated during a five year period from 1989 to 1993 based on their available financial data.
