CERTIFIED REFERENCE MATERIALS FOR DETERMINATION OF PHTHALATES AND ALKYLPHENOLS FROM THE NATIONAL METROLOGY INSTITUTE OF JAPAN

Certified reference materials (CRMs) are playing an increasingly important role in the national and international standardizing activities. In Japan, national reference materials for analysis of some environmental pollutants are supplied under the national standards dissemination system named the Japan Calibration Service System (JCSS). For the traceability of the reference materials for preparation of primary standard solutions based on the JCSS to the International System of Units (SI), the National Metrology Institute of Japan, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (NMIJ/AIST) is developing high-purity reference material of phthalates and alkylphenols as NMIJ CRMs. Therefore it is desirable to determine phthalates and alkylphenols by using these solutions based on the JCSS on not only environmental analysis but also risk management in chemical industry supply chain, because obtained analytical values are traceable to the SI.
