Experimental and Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) studies at DERA of flow control are described.The investigations include wind-tunnel tests at a)low speed on the use of Sub Boundary-layer Vortex Generators (SBVGs) to control leading and trailing edge separations on highly swept wings and b) high subsonic speeds and high Reynolds number on an aerofoil model with and without shock control.The former tests revealed that SBVGs can reduce the lift-dependent drag of swept wings by up to about 16
