The paper will summarise the technical background of Plasco Energy Group's (Plasco) proprietary Plasma Conversion System technology along with economic and environmental advantages. Performance data from the 85 TPD exemplary system operated in Ottawa, Canada will be shown and compared to the strictest worldwide limits. The expected performance from commercial size plants such as the one on contract with the City of Ottawa will also be shown.rnPlasco has invented and developed a proprietary, patented and patented pending process using plasma arc technology for the conversion of waste material into a synthetic fuel gas, or "PlascoSyngas", and other valuable products. The conversion of waste represents a 99% diversion from landfill with no air emissions during the conversion of the waste to PlascoSyngas. The synthetic fuel gas is used to run internal combustion engines to produce electricity, with recovered heat used to operate combined cycle generation.rnPlasco's Plasma Conversion System technology advantages also include operating smaller systems installed strategically around a city to supply electricity to the local grid. This reduces transmission losses as well as trucking distance for waste. Approximately 2.1 tonnes of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gas reductions are achieved from each tonne of waste processed.rnThe Plasco Conversion System technology has been developed through many years of focused research in conjunction with and supported by the Canadian National Research Council (NRC) and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE).
