(AB)_n microblock co-polymers having the generic structure [(CH_2)_4CH=CH(CH_2)_4O(CH_2CH_2O)_x]_n were synthesized and evaluated as hosts for lithium ion conductors. The polymers are crystalline but have melting points below room temperature. With the addition of lithium salts, the crystallinity is lost and the resulting polymer salt complexes are completely amorphous for O:Li ratios >32. The room temperature ionic conductivities of the complexes are typically 5xl0~(-5) S/cm. The conductivity increases as the length of the ethylene oxide segment is increased, consistent with an increase in the volume fraction of the ethylene oxide segment in the polymer.
