PROCESS VISUALIZATION FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS RUNNING UNDER WINDOWS

After an introduction to the fundamentals of safety technique, a double channel process visualization principle is presented. It is based on a (2-of-2) system configuration using different hardware and software channels. N-version programming together with different computer hardware is applied in order to establish a low cost redesign using commercial microprocessor components. The dynamization principle is applied. A first demonstration version running on a PC under Windows 3.1 is presented. Fundamental safety aspects on safety critical programs running under Windows 3.1 are discussed. Future developments are presented.
