Dyes are important tracers to investigate subsurface water movement.Laboratory experiments with non-fluorescent and fluorescent dyetracers are carried out in a two-dimensional water flow tank uniformlypacked with glass beads over a wide range of steady state water flowrates. The experimental results underline the potential of image analysistechnique to identify the dispersion coefficient and the dispersivity.
