Skill Training Support in Education/Learning Field

The skill training (or learning) is one of common research subjects over many academically-related fields: the research fields such as the sports science, the psychology and cognitive science, the medicine and physiology, and the rehabilitation and assistance studies have been focusing on the development or improvement of human skill abilities in addition to the education/learning field, and also publishing the successful and useful effects. The interests in the motor skills are very popular: in particular, the psychology and the sports science attacked eagerly. As a result, they proposed that the emotional act and the sensory-perceptual act as well as the embodied act take important roles to the embodiment or the skill training. In the education/learning field, it is an important issue how to deal with this skill training in comparison with the knowledge learning. In this paper, we address the features of skill training in comparison with the knowledge learning. In order to make this discussion successful, we introduce the conceptual components of knowledge fragment and skill fragment, and also take in consideration components observed in our usual environment as the symbolic metaphors: pieces in the jigsaw puzzle for knowledge fragment; and stones in the castle (or stone) wall for skill fragment. We discuss our objective by using these two different metaphors and arrange the features between the skill training and the knowledge learning, as well as the differences between the knowledge fragments and skill fragments.
