Iron ore beneficiation in special consideration of the reduction of deleterious components for the downstream metallurgical process

The iron ore beneficiation is more and more engraved on various process steps which include beside the enrichment of the Fe-bearing phases also the reduction of elements which have negative influences either on the downstream metallurgical processes, the environmental situation, e. g. for the pelletizing process or the production of high quality steel products. The quality requirements of modern pellet- and steelplants were introduced and by means of three examples it will be demonstrated which measures can be carried through for the recovery of high grade and also high quality concentrates for the blast furnace and also the direct reduction use.
