Rethinking Critical Thinking

摘要

In 1869 Harvard University President Charles Eliot [1] called for a “New Education.” He argued that the “antiquated institutions” of higher education insufficiently prepared students “for the world beyond the academy” and to be active participants in what Eliot termed “enlightened self-government.” This paper argues that critical, design, systems, algorithmic and creative thinking must be part of the “New Education” for the 21st century.
