The intelligent techniques have been used at present in the cement industry of some European, American or Asian countries to increase the efficiency of some operation such as crushing, classifying, weighing, burning, grinding, and dispatching by a process-based approaching. The new standard SR EN 197-1: 2002 contains a very large gamut of compositional domains and different mechanical, physical and chemical conditions for each of 162 common cements. In this context, the application of the intelligent techniques, can represent an operative solution usable with good results by the manufacturer in the self-control stage to ensure the cement conformity with the requirements of SR EN 197-1. The paper presents the results obtained by using some dedicated software - created at INC CEPROCIM - for cement type CEM I 32.5 N, CEM I 32.5 R, CEM I 42.5 N, CEM I 42.5 R, CEM I 52.5 N and CEM I 52.5 R quality control. Software simulations of the cements quality were realized and optimum limits of variations for the chemical, mineralogical, physical and mechanical parameters were established; on their basis it can undertake decisions during the CEM I type cements manufacture.
