Prostatron 30-minute Update: Where Do We Stand

The goal of TUMI is to duplicate the impressive symptomatic improvement achieved with surgery in an outpatient or office-based setting and in a cost-effective manner. TUMT fills the gap between medical and surgical therapy for BPH, and is easily tolerated, without the side effects of medicine or risks of surgery. Reported trials suggest a benefit of standard TUMT in a subset of patients, and we await the long-term results of high-energy TUMT. With this low-risk minimally invasive armamentarium becoming more readily available in our offices, we may begin treating patients earlier in the course of the disease when symptoms are less severe, and thus attract younger, more motivated patients. Perhaps this population is best suited for low-energy TUMT, where sexual function is less likely to be affected.
