Methodology for priorization of research and development projects in the electrical sector

As of May 2008, the responsibility for the selection and evaluation of Research and Development (R & D) projects of the program of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), has become the concessionaires of electric energy. In this sense it is observed the importance of an internal planning directed to coherent choices of the themes addressed in the projects. There is also a need for extreme care in managing them for the success of the program. The projects should be based not only on the criteria of the regulatory agency (ANEEL), which are essential for their development, but also on issues that are of great importance and cover not only the needs of the utility, but also the electricity sector as a whole. These are primarily intended to result in product and service improvements to internal and external customers. Considering this context, the article aims to provide electricity distributors in Brazil with the possibility of a more assertive choice of investments in the R & D / ANEEL program, through the methodology proposed in this article.
