PUMP UNIT SELECTION IN EASTERN ROUTE OF SOUTH-TO-NORTH WATER DIVERSION PROJECT OF CHINA BASED ON RELIABILITY AND ECONOMY

In the light of the characteristics of Eastern Route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the requirements of pump units of step pump stations of the project were analyzed. According to application situation of low head large pump unit and current technique level, reliability, maintainability, circumstance protection, investment, performance cost were all considered, step number, functions and flow cut-off ways of pump station were studied, reasonable capacity, pump type, motor type, axial type and key structures of the pump units were put forward in order to promote benefits of the project The results are well worth referencing to plan, equipment selection and operation maintenance of the project.
