Dynamic characteristics of the hydraulic pump depend on its internal leakage and flow pulsation. Aimed at the water hydraulic internal gear pump with the typical seal compensation mechanism, based on the liquid flow theory of the clearance pressure differential and analyzed the structural axial and radial clearances in the pump, the mathematical model of the internal leak flow of the pump was provided. This model verified by contrasting the theoretical leakage flow and the experimental leakage flow of the test pump was correct and useful. Analyzing the engagement process and the geometry relationship of the internal gear pairing derived the mathematical model of the flow pulsation of the pump. The primary influence factors and control methods of the flow pulsation included to decrease the module and the wideness of the gear pairing, and put the tooth numbers of the small gear approaching to the large gear's. These models achieved the quantitative analysis of the internal leakage and flow pulsation can be used to improve the design quality and make the simulation study of the pump.
