摘要

We have proposed the application of a countercurrent electromigration technique to cleaning process for the melt bath containing high level radioactive fission products. According to the preliminary experiments, strontium and barium can be much easier enriched than caesium. We designed an electromigration cell to remove the salt enriched from a column whenever each migration finished. It was found that by using the cell proposed, we could successfully remove the enriched part from the column repeatedly. The electromigration technique can contribute to not only volume reduction of melt bath wastes from pyrochemical reprocessing but also extension of the melt bath use for fuel recovery process.
