摘要

The physical and numerical modeling was carried out to study the flow patterns using swirling flow nozzle in continuous casting billet mould, the influence of the angles and locations of the blade on flow patterns in the mould was analyzed. The results showed that the flow patterns in mould was uniformed and the upper circulation regions were observed with swirling flow nozzle;the penetration depth of swirling fluid was decreased and the upper circulating regions moved upward with the blade angle reducing, and the lower circulation regions were observed in the case of 60° blade angle;the penetration depth of swirling flow was increased with the distance increasing between the blade and the outlet.
