Nowadays, IoT is becoming a global infrastructure for data and service aggregation in various application scenarios, while smart terminals and low power wide area networks tend to have boosted usage. Identity-based Signature (IBS) is originally proposed for direct authentication via individual entities without a centralized public certification authority. Applying IBS into IoT, especially for IoT terminals with constrained resources, is the main focus of this paper. Meanwhile, the overall proposal is under the framework of ID Oriented Networking (ION), which fully drives the IBS's potential for IoT with an intrinsic security mechanism. Accordingly, this paper presents the detailed implementations, and also shows analysis and future work.
