This paper proposes a methodology for minimization of transmission losses and enhancement of voltage stability margin by rescheduling of reactive power control variables accounting inequality constraints using TLBO technique. Minimum eigen value of load flow Jacobian is selected as a proximity indicator. Minimum eigen value of load flow Jacobian is obtained using continuation power flow method. Transmission losses have been optimized using Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO). Developed algorithm accounts inequality constraints not only in present operating point but also for predicted next interval load. Proposed methodology has been implemented on IEEE 14-bus test system. Performance of the TLBO has been compared with Differential Evolution (DE) and Genetic Algorithm (GA). Simulation results have been obtained which confirm that the proposed methodology provide considerable mitigation in the reactive power rescheduling
