Effects of drinking upon driving performance and physiology indicators

摘要

This article explored if drinking affected driving operations and physiology indicators with the simulation system. Under the virtual scenes made of the sharp curves and the emergency stop belts and the obstacle zone and the straight line segments, the Simulation system monitored and saved real-time data of driving operation and physiology indicators, the variables of all kinds of driving operations was set and was analyzed to have significant change after drinking by the paired T-test. On the other side, this article used the driving simulator to study the effect of the blood alcohol concentration dropping to physiological recordings. The result indicated that drinking affected significantly these driving operations, such as braking, steering, releasing clutch and accelerating, and that the difference of driving operation between before drinking and after drinking reduced gradually including the speed of releasing clutch and the speed and depth of stepping brake-pedal and accelerator-pedal with the alcohol dissipating, and the physiology indicators are changed significantly. The result shows that driving operation and the physiology indicators have significant changes after drinking and these differences reduce gradually with the blood alcohol concentration dropping. The study becomes basis of researching the quantitative analysis and the judgment on the effects of drinking on driving operation.
