This paper demonstrates the use of bond graphs and extended bond graph structuring principles in modeling fresh food products in a modified air packaging. It shows how model reusability can be obtained in practice. To guarantee broad participation in our model repository, we had to deal with the fact that different modelers prefer different conventions for similar variables. This in particular holds for the domain of material transport. Thereofore we propose to define an extended set of pseudo-domains, provided that they are represented explicitly. We introduce domain conversion elements to formalize domain and unit conversion in the bond graph. This approach enables us to keep models maintainable and shareable, while at the same time staying close to the contributor's working practice.
