X70 steel and 16Mn steel at present are both commonly used in the pipeline industrial of China.rnIn this paper, comparisons between X70 and 16Mn in various corrosion behaviors are made byrnexperimental tests, focusing on corrosion potentials, general corrosion rates, pitting and crevice attacks,rnerosion wear in flowing sandy oilfield water, the coupling corrosion, hydrogen absorption and so on. Thernresults show that the obvious differences between two steels in local corrosion, wear and hydrogenrnabsorption. In addition, the reasons are also discussed based on their chemical compositions andrnmicrostructures.
