WINS delivers quasi-real-time positioning andrnstatus information of any high value freight or freightrnelement at any level of the freight nesting hierarchyrn(from transport vehicle down to containers, palletsrnor single assets transported) on customer request.rnIn addition to reviewing published market figures thernWINS team discussed the market and associatedrnbusiness case with potential distributors, dealers,rnsales representatives, customers, and competitorsrnconfirming the need for adequate logistic tools forrnfleet management and tracking of goods.rnThe WINS infrastructure features a revenuesgeneratingrnpayload on-board a constellation of atrnleast 18 spacecraft each with an integratedrnnavigation/communication payload specificallyrndesigned to support this service. WINS could bernimplemented based on the GPS IIF or GalileoSat orrnwhatever other navigation constellation.rnThe WINS concept has been designed by anrnintegrated product team of thirteen internationalrnprofessionals from several different organisations inrnEurope (CNES, DASA, DLR, EUMETSAT, ESA,rnKayser-Threde, MAN Technology) participating in arnMaster in Space Systems Engineering at ToptechrnStudies (Delft, The Netherlands).
