Impediments to Knowledge Communication by Senior Professionals: A Case Study

Although it is clear that knowledge preservation and sharing are critical to long-term success in organizations, consistently successful methods to achieve it remain elusive, and projects do not always achieve the intended results. This article will recount an initiative to elicit knowledge from a professional within the Nuclear Power industry that, while achieving many useful results, did not completely fulfill expectations. Several lessons learned are described. The article concludes with a discussion of impediments to knowledge sharing among senior professionals.
