At the recent meeting of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), I was struck by the discordance between the representation of women in the leadership of the neuromodulation device industry as compared with our professional organizations. Two of the three major neuromodulation device companies were represented at these board meetings by 50% or more women; women serve in major leadership roles of all three companies. By contrast, no women sit on the executive boards of the NANS or the International Neuromodulation Society (INS). What has industry learned that we have not? (Figs. 1-3)
