    • 摘要: Isolating rare circulating tumor cells(CTCs)from blood is critical for the downstream analysis that is important in cancer-related research,diagnosis,and medicine,and efforts are ongoing to increase the efficiency and purity of CTC isolation in microfluidics.Reported in this paper is a two-stage integrated microfluidic chip for coarse-to-fine CTC isolation from whole blood.First,blood cells are removed by filtration using a micropore-array membrane,then CTCs and other cells that are trapped in the micropores are peeled off the membrane by a novel release method based on air–liquid interfacial tension,which significantly increases the recovery rate of CTCs.The second stage is CTC capture based on an on-chip dense immuno-magnetic-bead clump,which offers high capture efficiency and purity.Both the micropore filtration and immuno-magnetic-bead capture are validated and optimized experimentally.Overall,the integrated microfluidic chip can realize a recovery rate of 85.5%and a purity of 37.8%for rare cancer cells spiked in whole blood.

    • 摘要: The present work deals with the research of chemical constituents and evaluation of antioxidant properties of Bebotho propolis. From the ethyl acetate extract, we isolated, using various chromatographic techniques, a mixture of two identical compounds (isomers) indexed PBy4a and PByb. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by means of spectroscopic analysis techniques (MS, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMBC and HSQC) and by comparison of the spectral data with those described in the literature. Thus, these compounds were identified to a mixture of two chromones namely 5,7-dihydroxy-2-methylchromone-6-C-α-D-glucopyranoside and 5,7-dihydroxy-2-methylchromone-8-C-β-D-glucopyranoside, first reported in propolis. The study of the antiradical power, chelating power and the quantification of phenolic compound of these same extracts, showed interesting properties that propolis extracts have to scavenge free radicals.

    • 摘要: Citrus leaf and fruit spot incited by Pseudocercospora angolensis are one of the most serious production constraints of citrus production in North Western Ethiopia. Disease survey in 10 major citrus growing districts of North-Western Ethiopia was conducted, to indicate the importance of citrus leaf and fruit spot disease and its association with agro-ecological factors. The study was carried out during 2021 and 2022 cropping seasons. And in each cropping season based on availability, a total of 280 citrus trees (200 sweet oranges, 40 mandarins, and 40 lemons) in 20 orchards were randomly assessed. This study result showed that in most of the surveyed areas, leaf and fruit spot were the most prevalent and long-lasting disease of citrus. That is, among 10 studied districts in 8 of them (100%) disease prevalence, (87.25%) incidence and (24.43%) severity were computed. As a result, most citrus growers were practiced uprooting of their citrus trees and replacing them by other fruit crops (Mango and Avocado). Therefore, from the result of the present investigation to provide sustainable citrus fruit productivity and production in areas where citrus leaf and fruit spot disease is predominant and causes a devastating effect, integrated and sustainable citrus leaf and fruit spot disease management practices should be executed. Furthermore, in order to get full illustrates of the importance of the disease, it is useful to conduct related disease surveys in major citrus growing areas of the country.

    • 摘要: Kiwi,a fruit from plants of the genus Actinidia,is one of the famous fruits with thousand years of edible history.In the past twenty years,a great deal of research has been done on the chemical constituents of the Actinidia species.A large number of secondary metabolites including triterpenoids,flavonoids,phenols,etc.have been identified from differents parts of Actinidia plants,which exhibited significant in vitro and in vivo pharmacological activities including anticancer,anti-inflammatory,neuroprotective,anti-oxidative,anti-bacterial,and anti-diabetic activities.In order to fully understand the chemical compo-nents and biological activities of Actinidia plants,and to improve their further research,development and utilization,this review summarizes the compounds extracted from different parts of Actinidia plants since 1959 to 2020,classifies the types of constituents,reports on the pharmacological activities of relative compounds and medicinal potentials.

    • 摘要: Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)deaths per million population in the countries of the West had often exceeded those in the countries of the East by factor of 100 by May 2021.In this paper,we refer to the West as represented by the United States plus the five most populous countries of Western Europe(France,Germany,Italy,Spain,and the United Kingdom),and the East as the 15 countries in East Asia and Oceania that are members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership,RCEP(Australia,Brunei,Cambodia,China,Indonesia,Japan,the Republic of Korea,Laos,Malaysia,Myanmar,New Zealand,Philippines,Singapore,Thailand,and Vietnam).This paper argues that currently available information points to the factors most responsible for the East–West divide.Warnings by early January 2020 about an atypical viral pneumonia in Wuhan,China,prompted rapid responses in many jurisdictions in East Asia.Publication of the virus’s genome on 10 January 2020 provided essential information for making diagnostic tests and launching vaccine development.China’s lockdown of Wuhan on 23 January 2020 provided a final,decisive signal of the danger of the new disease.By late March 2020,China had fully controlled its epidemic,and many other RCEP countries had taken early and decisive measures,including restrictions on travel,that aborted serious outcomes.Inaction during the critical month of February 2020 in the United States and most other Western countries allowed the disease to take hold and spread.In both the East and the West,stringent population-wide non-pharmaceutical interventions were widely implemented at great cost to societies,economies,and school systems.Without these measures,the outcomes could have been even worse.Most countries in the East also implemented tightly focused policies to isolate infectious individuals.Even today,most countries in the West allow infectious individuals to mingle with their families,coworkers,and communities.Much of the East–West divide plausibly results from failure in the West to implement the basic public health policies of early action and the isolation of infectious individuals.Widespread immunization in some RCEP and high-income countries will soon attenuate their outbreaks,while the slow rollout of vaccines in lower income countries is replacing the East–West divide in outcomes with a North–South one.The South is thus replacing the West as the breeding ground for more dangerous variants as exemplified by the highly contagious Delta variant,which may undermine hitherto successful control strategies in many countries.

    • 摘要: Encephalomyocarditis virus(EMCV)is a positive single-stranded small RNA virus without envelope,which can infect a variety of mammals.Swines are the most susceptible animals,which can cause acute myocarditis and respiratory failure in piglets and reproductive failure in pregnant sows.Diseases caused by EMCV have a wide range of effects on the global swine industry.In this study,a strain of EMCV was isolated from a swine aborted fetus in northeast China.It was identified by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),electron microscopic observation and indirect immunofluorescence assay.The subsequent results showed that the virus titer of HLJ strain grew to 8.3 lgTCID50 on baby hamster kidney 21(BHK-21)cells.And HLJ strain caused the specific cytopathic effect(CPE)on BHK-21 cells and severe pathological changes in mice.Complete genome sequencing and multiple sequence alignment showed that the homology between HLJ strain and other isolates worldwide was 71.5%-99.7%.Phylogenetic analysis showed that EMCV isolates fell into five clusters:lineageⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,ⅣandⅤ,based on the nucleotide sequences of the entire open reading frame(ORF)and VP1 gene.HLJ isolate was grouped into lineage I.The analyses of amino acid mutation sites of VP1 protein showed that the amino acids at positions 20 and 54 in VP1 junction were unique to HLJ strain.The isolation of HLJ strain enriched the epidemiological database of EMCV.

    • 摘要: Canine coronavirus(CCoV),a member of the genus Alphocoronavirus,is an enveloped,single-stranded positive-sense RNA virus that responsible for gastroenteritis in dogs.In this study,two CCoV isolates were successfully propagated from 53 CCoV-positive clinical specimens by serial passaging in A-72 cells.These two strains,CCoV JS1706 and CCoV JS1712,caused cytopathic effects in A-72 cells.The sizes of virus plaque formed by them differed in early passages.Electron microscopy revealed a large quantity of typical coronavirus particles with 80-120 nm in diameter in cell culture media and cytoplasm of infected cells,in which they appeared as inclusion bodies.RT-PCR analysis of 5 gene indicated that these two isolates were belonged to CCoV lla subtype.Homology of RdRp,S,M and N proteins between the two strains were 100,99.6,99.2 and 100.0%,respectively,whereas they were 99.4-100%,83.1-95.2%,88.5-99.2% and 91.9-99.7%identity compared to CCoV II reference strains.Phylogenetic analysis of RdRp,S,M and N protein showed that they were closely related to CCoV II strains.These two subtype lla isolates will be useful for evaluating the pathogenesis and evolution of CCoV and for developing diagnostic reagents and vaccines.

    • 摘要: In this paper,a novel type of isolator,named segmented intelligent isolation bearing(SIIB),is designed and manufactured,which can meet the requirements of seismic fortification under three seismic intensities,i.e.frequent intensity,basic intensity,and rare intensity.A theoretical formula for the output of the SIIB is established to provide a basis for the determination of the size of the SIIB.MRE and STMP used in SIIB were prepared,of which the changes of shear storage modulus and damping factor with the magnetic field under different strain are analyzed.The mechanical properties of the SIIB under small displacement,medium displacement,and large displacement are tested,respectively,and the hysteretic characteristics of force–displacement are analyzed.The dynamic mechanical model combining the rheological model,phenomenological model,and bilinear restoring force model is established to represent the behavior of the SIIB.The results showed that the theoretical results agree well with the experimental results,and the model can significantly reflect the dynamic characteristics of SIIB.

    • 摘要: With strict measures in place to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019,many have been isolated as suspected or confirmed cases.Being isolated causes much inconvenience for the patients and family.Patients''and next-of-kins’needs and concerns during isolation will be shared together with suggestions for key process improvements.Our hospital’s Senior Patient Experience Managers contact all patients admitted to the isolation wards on a daily basis to provide some form of support.Common issues raised were gathered and strategies to help with their needs and concerns were discussed.Being in isolation is a challenging period for both patients and family.Nonetheless,we can implement measures to mitigate against the adverse effects of isolation.Patient education,effective and efficient means of communication,close monitoring for signs of distress and anxiety,and early intervention could help patients cope better with the whole isolation experience.Nursing management may want to consider implementing the measures shared in the article to manage patient’s stress while not compromising on staff safety.

    • 摘要: With the development of multi-band wireless communication and the increasing data transmission rate,the circulator as an antenna interface must be able to work in multiple frequency bands and provides large bandwidth.It presents a high challenge to the design of circulators,especially the active quasi-circulators.In this survey,we review the representative active quasi-circulators and summarize three different techniques and the corresponding structures to show an incremental improvement of the isolation and bandwidth of the active quasi-circulators.In addition,we also compare the performance of several state-of-art active circulators,and analyze their advantages and disadvantages.Finally,we conclude the future trend of the active quasi-circulators.
