Elucidating the exact contribution of microglia to central nervous system(CNS)pathology has historically been extremely challenging.These resident parenchymal myeloid cells are considered to have critical roles as frontline responders during pathogen invasion and CNS perturbation.Thus,understanding the precise temporal kinetics of microglial function is central to the evolution of novel therapeutics for disease intervention and/or resolution(Spiteri et al.,2022a).The development of PLX5622,a colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor(CSF-1R)inhibitor typically formulated into a rodent chow for simple oral administration has facilitated exploration of microglial functions in disease(Spangenberg et al.,2019).

Dear editor,Dysregulated inflammatory responses primarily account for damage to the central nervous system,however,neurodegenerative processes likely contribute to the pathophysiology of progressive forms of multiple sclerosis(MS).These pathophysiological aspects include axonal energy depletion and impaired remyelination capacity(Levin et al.,2014).The clinical efficacy of most disease-modifying therapies in MS to date has been achieved by targeting functions of the adaptive immune system(Cree et al.,2019;Szepanowski et al.,2021).

摘要:
The main purpose of this study is to design and implement a small-scale biogas digest system, which can provide a certain amount of natural gas (N.G.). The percentage of methane gases emissions according to the various research studies is around 25% of the total emission gases of the waste materials. For all industrialized nations, food waste costs approximately $680 billion/year. The dramatic increase in population and the waste of organic and non-organic materials lead to the use of biomass energy as the source of the renewable energy system to produce a natural gas (N.G.), which can be utilized in cooking or commercialized for the public. The burn out of the waste and the garbage materials causes tremendous pollution and global warming;however, utilizing the Biogas Digest System (BDS) will stop polluting the surrounding environment. The amount of natural gases production was measured for various atmospheric conditions. The important findings of this study are the amount of N.G., which can be increased by mixing two different types of organic waste materials.

Dear editor,Regional precipitation,as a very important component system of hydrology,plays a key role in the whole water cycle[1].The dramatic changes of regional precipitation in a short period can easily have a serious impact on the local ecological environment and daily life.Short-term heavy precipitation refers to precipitation events with rainfall of more than 20 mm in one hour or 50 mm in three hours[2].Therefore,how to accurately and timely predict future precipitation is an important research field in meteorology.However,precipitation prediction has always been a challenging task because of its complex spatial and temporal dependence.

Background: The Adverse Events following Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Surveillance System (VMMC AESS) serves to identify adverse events (AEs) for safe provision of VMMC. In 2019, Zvimba District reported two adverse events out of 542 circumcisions translating to a 0.4% AE rate against an acceptable threshold of 2% and this is suggestive of underreporting. We evaluated the system to verify existence of underreporting of AEs, assess the surveillance system attributes and evaluate data quality. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted using the updated Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for surveillance system evaluation. We proportionately sampled VMMC client intake records and purposively selected health workers involved in the VMMC programme into the study. An interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from 14 - 30 December 2020 on knowledge of the VMMC AESS among health care workers and surveillance system attributes. We used a checklist to check for data quality. Data were analysed using Epi Info 7 statistical software. Results: Of the 31 health workers that participated in the study, 21 (68%) had fair knowledge of the surveillance system. Out of 384 records reviewed, 104 had missing data on AE monitoring days 7 and 42. Sixteen (52%) of participants regarded filling AE reporting forms as difficult and the process as time-consuming. The surveillance system was not representative as only two out of eight facilities were conducting outreaches in hard-to-reach areas. Conclusion: There was possible underreporting of adverse events as about a quarter of reviewed records had missing data on AE monitoring days and the system’s performance was threatened by poor data quality and unavailability of reporting forms. The system was rendered acceptable though unstable, not representative and not simple and the health workers were not making use of the surveillance system. We recommended retraining on the surveillance system for all health care workers involved in VMMC in Zvimba District.

The changes of 109 analytical methods for surface water in the past 20 years since the implementation of Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water(GB 3838-2002)were analyzed.Concidering with the analysis of specific items in the quality standard,it is suggested that the monograph method and the general method(the general method is moved to the standard collection of general rules and standards)can be combined when the analytical method is newly formulated and revised in the future;the limit table of the quality standard or pollution source emission standard is moved to the collection of general rules and standards,and the referenced analysis method standards are deleted.The description of analysis method standard is more succinct,and the structure of the whole ecological environment standard system is clearer.
