    • 摘要: The paper presents the construction of a steel footbridge in the People’s Park in Lublin.The initiation and development of the architectural design of an interesting and,as it eventually turned out,aesthetically pleasing footbridge is discussed.Two teams of architects and bridge engineers worked in parallel on the design.The design process of the footbridge structure is discussed along with its trial installation and on-site construction.The span of the footbridge is short,but its structure is innovative.For this reason its numerical model was developed used as a basis for an analysis of the dynamic response of the designed structure.The basic element of the acceptance procedure was constituted by a dynamic test load and an analysis of the pedestrian footbridge user comfort.Last but not least,the final section reviews the aesthetic canons of bridges and focuses on the footbridge in question in this context.A statistical measure of the aesthetic impression induced by a visit to the footbridge was applied resulting in a predictable and obvious final aesthetical assessment.

    • 摘要: The steel structure construction is an interesting option to the already established concrete structure at a time when the Brazilian civil construction seeks more efficiency.To promote the use of this material it is necessary to have a better understanding of its characteristics and,especially,of its possible pathologies,to avoid degradation,costs,and even the collapse of the structure.In this study Total Quality Management tools were applied to analyze the pathologies found in five medium and large steel-structured buildings.The most frequent ones were structure corrosion,cracks in the closures,and infiltrations in the interface closure/structure.The Ishikawa Diagram is used to identify the origin of the causes of pathologies and the Gravity Urgency Tendency Matrix(GUT Matrix)is used in the risk analysis of each pathology.The results obtained show that it is possible,through these Quality Management tools,to understand the origin of the pathologies,establishing their dangerousness and the degree of risk each one offers.

    • 摘要: The evolution of inclusions and the formation of acicular ferrite(AF)in Ca-Ti treated steel was systematically investigated after Mg and La addition.The inclusions in the molten steel were Ca-Al-O,Ca-Al-Mg-O,and La-Mg-Ca-Al-O after Ca,Mg,and La addition,respectively.The type of oxide inclusion in the final quenched samples was the same as that in the molten steel.However,unlike those in molten steel,the inclusions were Ca-Al-Ti-O+MnS,Ca-Mg-Al-Ti-O+MnS,and La-Ca-Mg-Al-Ti-O+MnS in Mg-free,Mg-containing,and La-containing samples,respectively.The inclusions distributed dispersedly in the La-containing sample.In addition,the average size of the inclusions in the La-containing sample was the smallest,while the number density of inclusions was the highest.The size of effective inclusions(nucleus of AF formation)was mainly in the range of 1-3μm.In addition,the content of ferrite side plates(FSP)decreased,while the percentage of AF increased by 16.2%due to the increase in the number of effective inclusions in the La-containing sample in this study.

    • 摘要: Process manufacturing is a pillar of modern economy;it is the dominant mode of production in many industries,including oil and gas,chemicals,nonferrous metals,iron,steel,and more.In order to address the problems of resource constraints,energy efficiency,and environmental protection in process manufacturing,it is necessary to develop systems and methods to make process manufacturing more efficient,greener,and smarter.From another perspective,artificial intelligence has been successfully applied in various fields,such as autonomous vehicles,image analysis,robotic manipulators,real-time assistants,and smart recommendation,and has demonstrated its powerful strengths in knowledge representation,cognitive comprehension,and autonomous learning.Therefore,a deep and tight integration between artificial intelligence and process manufacturing is a promising direction toward“smart process manufacturing.”Smart process manufacturing has become a hot research topic in recent years,and various governments have released strategic plans for smart process manufacturing with the aim of upgrading and transforming the process industry.
