One aspect of the invention is that the housing cup (10) has a predetermined breaking point circumferential to the housing cup (16), wherein the predetermined breaking point (16) divides the housing cup into a lower housing cup part (12) and an upper housing cup part (14), and is designed such, that after fixing the lower housing cup part (12) in the recess (55), the upper housing cup part (14) along the predetermined breaking point (16) can be removed.The invention also relates to a method for mounting a sensor module (100) in a recess (55) of a traffic infrastructure (50) by means of a housing cup according to the invention (10).
