A system for the detection of a speech disturbance shall be disclosed, which shall include at least one storage medium for the storage of files on which at least two different acoustic files are stored which differ from each other, that children with normal language development prefer the hearing experience of at least one of the two acoustic files, at least one loudspeaker, for the reproduction of the acoustic files, at least two control elements that selectively initiate the playback of at least two acoustic files, at least one detection element, which detects the number and/or duration of operations of at least two controls,and at least one storage element which stores the data detected by at least one detection element. In addition, a procedure for determining a language development disorder using the device according to the invention is revealed.
