The storage-battery charging device includes a first stage with a power factor correction filter, and a second stage with an inverter. The first stage is electrically connected to the second stage through an intermediate node, the intermediate node being directly electrically connected to a feed-in connection point for direct voltage. The feed-in connection point is designed for direct electrical coupling to a high-voltage vehicle electrical system of the motor vehicle.
