The present invention belongs to the field of rice seeds. Disclosed is a method for using a regression equation of a galactose content and a germination rate to rapidly determine whether rice seeds meet standards. The method comprises the steps: extracting galactose from rice seeds, and quantitatively measuring the absolute galactose content of the rice seeds; preparing a batch of seeds with different aging deterioration degrees; respectively measuring the absolute galactose content of the seeds and measuring the germination rate of the seeds, and calculating and making a regression equation between the galactose content and the germination rate of the seeds; extracting galactose from seeds needing to be subjected to determination, and measuring the galactose content thereof; calculating (predicting), according to the regression equation, the germination rate of the seeds needing to be subjected to determination; and on the basis of stipulations in Chinese Seed of Food Crops-Part 1: Cereals, performing determination on the seeds needing to be subjected to determination of whether same meet standards. According to the present invention, galactose content is used as an index for measuring vitality, such that the determination of the vitality of seeds is simpler, faster and has comparability, the determination efficiency is improved, and seeds are saved on.
