A method for cocking and accelerating a projectile in the barrel of a shock action installation, including, when cocked, the connection of a hydraulic cylinder, a spring, a projectile and their movement in the barrel, and during acceleration, their sequential separation, characterized in that at first the projectile is in the lower position and rests against the destructible surface, a hydraulic cylinder connected to the barrel pivotally and having a rod with a grip, moves down until it meets the projectile, after which the projectile is captured and moved up the barrel until it stops in the inertial mass, at the same time, when moving, the projectile compresses the spring and, when resting on the inertial mass, the locks installed on it close, forming a single shock mass, when connecting the rod cavity of the hydraulic cylinder with the drain, the grip releases the projectile, which moves downward under the influence of gravity, after covering a certain distance, the locks of the inertial mass open and the projectile, under the action of the released energy of the compressed spring, acquires additional acceleration and strikes the destructible surface, while the inertial mass, moving in the opposite direction, perceives the reactive component of the spring energy and, due to this, does not transmit it to the base machine.
