The battery thermal runaway early warning method comprises: acquiring the current temperature data of each temperature sensor arranged in a battery pack, the current voltage data of each voltage sensor arranged in the battery pack, and the current sensor disconnection data of each temperature sensor (511); according to the current temperature data, counting the number of primary features occurring at the current moment (512); insofar as the number of primary features occurring is greater than zero, counting, according to the current voltage data and the current sensor disconnection data, the number of secondary features occurring at the current moment (513); calculating the sum of the number of primary features and the number of secondary features occurring at the current moment (514); and performing battery thermal runaway early warning insofar as the sum is greater than a preset feature number threshold value (515).
