The invention relates to a keratin hydrolysate comprising at least 88%, preferably at least 90%, by weight of free amino acids relative to the total weight of the amino acids of the hydrolysate, and comprising a content of free tyrosine between 2% and 4%, preferably 2.5% to 3.5%, by weight relative to the total weight of the free amino acids of the hydrolysate, and a method for preparing said hydrolysate comprising, in particular, the following steps: acid hydrolysis, a pH adjustment and a desalination. The invention also relates to the use of said hydrolysate in particular for pet food, aquaculture food, and plant biostimulants.
