A method for sorting multiple types of materials by using a human-machine cooperative sorting system, comprising: transmitting a material image acquired by a camera to a display for displaying; receiving operation information transmitted by the display, the operation information comprising a selected position and an operation signal, the operation signal corresponding to a target placement position of the material; and obtaining the corresponding target placement position according to the operation signal, and sending the target placement position and the selected position to a robot, so as to control the robot to grab the material corresponding to the selected position and place same at the corresponding target placement position. Thus, grabbed materials can be placed at different placement positions according to operation information, being suitable for sorting multiple types of materials. In addition, the present application further discloses a human-machine cooperative sorting system for sorting multiple types of materials by using the described method for sorting multiple types of materials.
