Disclosed are a traffic identification method and a traffic identification device, which are used for accurately identifying game traffic and improving the identification accuracy for the game traffic. The method of the embodiment of the present application comprises: a traffic identification device acquiring traffic to be analyzed of a target data stream; the traffic identification device acquiring arrival time intervals of packets of said traffic; and the traffic identification device determining the type of said traffic according to a distribution feature of the probabilities of some or all of the arrival time intervals.
